#Ad Regent Seven Seas Grandeur called in to Southampton in July 2025. Through our CLIA Choose Cruise membership a limited number of vloggers were able to visit the ship. Other vloggers joining us were: Cruising with Matthew, Cruise Mummy, Cruising with the 4Bs and ShipFaced
We arrived at the terminal to be met by our hosts James and Sasha and also David Sanders from Choose Cruise. Formalities sorted quickly, it was through security and onto the gangway for our first view of the ship. From the moment we walked through the doors we knew we were in for a treat. Everything we could see shouted class, elegance and beauty.
This blog couldn’t possibly say everything there is to say about Seven Seas Grandeur. On the technical side it holds 744 passengers, has 600 crew, 372 suites and 10 decks. It was built at a cost of $535 million USD. The ship has an art collection of approximately 1,600 pieces including art by Picasso and of course the “Journey in Jewels” Faberge Egg. Indeed the Godmother of the ship is none other than Sarah Faberge.
But enough of all that, what I hope to convey is how special the ship is and how beautiful the decor is. You will see a touch of life in a Suite and on board, amazing artworks and importantly a tiny glimpse into food on board.
THE REGENT SUITE
There’s nothing like starting at the top – and here it is, The Regent Suite. One of a kind and probably the most expensive Suite at Sea. It is 472.7 sq/m (the balcony alone is 120 sq/m). The suite has two bedrooms – a master bedroom and a guest bedroom. Each of course have their own en suite facilities and walk-in wardrobes. On top of that there is the living accommodation, an in-suite spa retreat with sauna steam room and jacuzzi, fitness area, private balcony and a Treesse Minipool. There is 24-hour in suite dining, valet laundry, access to The Study private dining room for up to 12 guests, personalised in-suite mini-bar and Butler services.
The list is almost endless but then you really don’t want to hear about facilities such as personalised stationary on request, linen and pillow menu, daily canapes, complimentary in-suite cocktail party or even the personal car & guide to explore ashore – or do you.
Living Accommodation & Outside Area
The living accommodation comprises a spacious living room or Snug, a Skylight parlour area and a separately located dining room for up to 12 guests. The decor is carefully thought out and currated – and even includes an original piece of art by Picasso.
Meanwhile the outside area is immense and would certainly be able to host those private cocktail parties that can be put on.
For those who enjoy fitness and spa facilities – yes there are private areas in the suite for both if you are that way inclined.
Master Bedroom
The `piece de la resistence’ is the bed in the master suite the cost of which comes in at a cool $250,000 USD. It does however come with a beautiful view and access direct onto the outside area.
RANGE OF SUITES
Whilst it was great to see the Regent Suite, it is way out of our price range. However Regent Seven Seas has a wide range of suites to be tempted with. The starting point is the Veranda Suite which is 20.4 sq/m. It includes a private balcony, a sitting area with a table for in-suite breakfasts, lavish bath products, a flat-screen TV.
From there the size of the suites and the facilities available increase until at last you get to the Signature Suites which are between 176 and 195 sq/m. These suites also have a large living area and wrap around private balcony.
We had a very quick glimpse into two of these suites and found both of a very high standard and again, classy. Some of our photos are below.
DINING OPTIONS
As you would expect dining is an experience with Regent Seven Seas. In brief here are some of the venues that we saw during our tour.
Informal Dining
Coffee Connection – a metropolitan cafe serving coffees, liqueur coffee, Chai Tea Lattes and cold coffee drinks
La Veranda – informal dining throughout the day. We saw this at lunchtime and the food looked stunning.
Pool Grill – an opportunity to dine al fresco while enjoying views of the sea and ports as you do so.
Speciality Dining
Chartreuse – French cuisine with a modern twist. Some of the decor is inspired by Chanel. This restaurant also has amazing sea views for that perfect experience.
Pacific Rim – at the entrance to this restaurant you are greeted with a life sized sculpture of a cherry blossom tree. Each of the blossoms are hand cast. Here you can experience many Pan-Asian creations in a Zen style ambience.
Sette Mari at La Veranda – this venue is only available in the evenings and offers classic Italian cuisine. Using part of La Veranda as its location it enables beautiful sea views and indoor or outdoor tables.
Prime 7 – this restaurant elevates classic American fare of steaks and sea food giving diners a whole new experience.
Compass Rose – this is the largest of the dining rooms on Seven Seas Grandeur and is where we were fortunate enough to have lunch. From the moment we entered the dining room we felt the elegant decadence. It truly has the `wow’ factor and left us almot open-mouthed at its beauty. The Visace designed tableware adds to the excitement of what is to come. Here you can design your very own entrée from preferred sides, sauces, pastas and main features of beef, poultry and fish.
As a group we were treated to a set menu created by Executive Chef Dino Schwager. Lunch was a great success but the dessert was outstanding.
SPA AND FITNESS
For many, Spa and fitness facilities on a cruise are particularly important. Grandeur is no exception with its wide range of chargeable spa treatments available. There is a well equipped fitness centre and jogging track available. From aerobics to yoga and dumbbells to tread mills you will find it there for your convenience.
After all that activity you can relax in the Spa with treatments and activities to soothe body and mind. There are plenty to choose from even a zero gravity wellness massage. Alternatively treat yourself to a manicure, pedicure or hairdressing/barber facilities.
DAYTIME ACTIVITIES
Like any other cruise ship, Grandeur has many facilities for guests to enjoy during their stay. Whilst we were unable to take advantage of them during our day visit, we did get to see some of them very briefly.
A few indoor highlights will include the enrichment classes, fitness classes, culinary arts kitchen, destination services, card room and a library. Meanwhile outside there are pools and jacuzzis to relax in or beside. If you feel more active there are golf nets, a paddle tennis court, putting green, bocce court and our personal favourite, Shuffleboard courts.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT
The entertainment on board continues during the evening where you can while away the hours chatting in a range of bars, enjoying the theatre or spending time in the casino. We were able to see some of the facilities but of course we would have to sail on Grandeur to experience it.
AND FINALLY …
This was a wonderful opportunity to have a glimpse at life on board Regent Seven Seas Grandeur. There was so much to photograph, it is impossible to show it all here. Nor can I begin to explain the `Grandeur’, beauty and oppulence of this ship. The designers have made sure that there is still a homely and cofortable feel which is sheer genius. Whilst she is sadly out of our price range, she is quite simply a `must do’ ship.
We have been blown away by the ship as a whole and can see how proud the crew is of her and why she is so popular. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would like to thank everyone involved in the arrangements.
There is currently a short video on our YouTube Channel, Ken Goes Cruising, to show more of the Regent Suite. There will also be a video showing more of our day visit in the not too distant future, so look out for that on our Channel as well.
