ACTIVITIES
There are some really interesting aspects to Guernsey, not least of which is the occupation of the island during World War II. There are various tours available relating the story of the occupation.
You can tour the island on the local service bus to take in the culture and landmarks of the island or even visit a Gin distillery.
OUR FAVOURITE THINGS TO DO
Get onto the island to start with!! It’s a tender port so don’t be surprised if conditions mean that you cannot get ashore. It took 5 attempts for us to get to the island on various cruise ships. Worth it in the end though.
We are lucky to have a friend who farms with his family on the island. They produce some of the Island’s Dairy Cream ice cream – which is absolutely delicious. Through them we have seen some parts of island life which we may not have seen otherwise.
But in the town of Saint Peter Port itself we love to go for a stroll around the sea front and a particular favourite stop is to have some refreshments at Christies Brasserie.
